Blackmagic has introduced a new version 5.6 of its software for Multibridge and DeckLink products.
The most important new feature is support for Eyeon Fusion 5. Together with a Blackmagic Multibridge Extreme, the user can now use a complete 10-bit uncompressed workflow in 4:4:4 RGB.
In addition, the Multibridge Extreme allows a real-time preview in 2 at 23.98 and 24 fps, respectively, in Fusion 5. This allows users to view 2K on dual-link DVI-D LCD displays such as Apple’s 30-inch Cinema Display.
For older DeckLink HD cards, the new software version now brings support for 720p/50.
For users who employ Multibridge or DeckLink HD models together with Premiere Pro 2.0 on Windows XP systems, there is now full-speed HDV playback. Clips can now be combined with uncompressed 10- and 8-bit clips.
