Two years have passed since the last release, and now Boris Red 4 is available. In addition to the new user interface, the highlights of the current version include above all BCC filters such as Glow, Halftone or Color Match, Final Effects filters such as Hair and fluid simulation, spline rasterisation of bitmap graphics, automatic image stabilisation, painting with custom multilayer brushes and clone function, motion keying, subtitle import and export, as well as 16-bit rendering and support for Wacom tablets.
Registered users of older Red versions costs the update to Red 4 349 euros until 31.12. of this year and includes a German learning DVD. For owners of Boris FX, Graffiti or BCC, the price amounts to 1,009 euros, and it too includes a German learning DVD. For the Red 4 full version (also including the DVD), Jocomp charges 1,599 euros.
Something is happening with the compositing program Boris Blue as well. Just a few months after the release of version 1.0, quite a few new filters and 3D shaders from version 1.1 were already shown in the IBC environment. Important for those interested in Blue: The price has fallen by half – from now on the full version costs 989 euros, owners of Boris Red have to spend 599 euros.
