Autodesk’s Media and Entertainment division has announced layoffs. According to company information, “less than 10 percent” of the employees in the Systems division are to be laid off. According to its own account, Autodesk intends to secure long-term company growth with the job cuts.
Within the Systems division, the research & development and support departments are affected by the savings, but not the sales and 3D departments.
As background, Autodesk cites a more product-focused structure that would allow research & development to be carried out in smaller, multifunctional teams. This is intended to result both in improvements in implementing the product roadmaps and in greater efficiency within the company.
