As, by its own account, one of the first companies in Germany, Elektrofilm TMT in Munich-Unterföhring will in future work with the new MTI Correct DRS HD restoration system. The further development of the award-winning DRS (Digital Restoration System) serves the digital HD restoration of film and video material as well as film finishing. The outstanding feature of Correct DRS is its exceptional algorithms, which achieve optimal results through motion analysis without introducing artifakts.

Based on a cross-platform modular technology that supports all video and film formats up to 4K, Correct DRS offers a variety of efficient tools for digital film restoration. In addition to the original DRS – an interactive tool for selectively detecting and removing chemicals, residues, continuous vertical scratches and other damage – Correct DRS also has an autofilter for automatically removing dirt and dust from the entire image without manual intervention. Batch rendering for creating and managing the automated functions and a completely new interactive colour tool are also integrated.

MTI Correct DRS is already being used successfully in Hollywood; among others, Warner Brothers is currently restoring the first King Kong film from 1933 with the help of the system.

With the acquisition of the restoration system, which costs approximately 100,000 euros, Elektrofilm TMT wants to expand further its leading position in the field of digital restoration.
