Adobe Systems has outlined its plans for Hannover Messe, held from 16 to 20 April 2007. The presentation will focus on Acrobat 3D Version 8, Photoshop CS3 Extended with additional technical functions, and LiveCycle server systems for protecting intellectual property in manufacturing.
Acrobat 3D Version 8 adds support for new CAD formats and applications, along with faster conversion of large CAD files to PDF. Improved compression is intended to reduce file sizes substantially. Specialists from Adobe Systems, Prostep and IPEQ will demonstrate how 3D PDF technology can reduce security risks when handling design data and provide guidance on daily work with Acrobat 3D Version 8. They will also show 3D PDF documents connected to automated manufacturing processes through LiveCycle.
Photoshop CS3 Extended expands image processing for technical work, including 3D content. Users can import 3D models and edit their surfaces. Image-analysis tools expose information stored in an image while preserving its original format for viewing, annotation and preparation. Adobe says architects can use the functions to add dimensions to 3D objects quickly.
