NDR has commissioned MCI to build two high-end editing suites in Hamburg. Quantel eQ systems form the centre of each suite, while the infrastructure uses HD-SDI technology.
To minimise noise inside the edit rooms, central equipment will be installed in two Silent Racks from Analog Audio. Monitoring uses 47-inch MCI Focus displays. The professional TFT panels are designed to prevent image sticking, minimise motion blur and operate silently.
The editing furniture is hydraulically height-adjustable. MCI designed it with long-standing partner KWOD Design and will manufacture the custom desks in its own workshops. MCI project manager Torsten Andresen described the installation as an editing suite with broad capabilities and a flexible technical layout.
