Headphone expert Sennheiser from Wedemark near Hanover has had an elaborate cinema spot produced to support the new “Log in to Real Sound” advertising campaign. According to company information, it will be used this summer as a digital soundcheck (THX trailer) in Germany and other countries and is intended especially young viewers into a virtual, pulsating Sennheiser world – in which good sound becomes an experience for all the senses.

Supported by biz.quit mediendesign and an international team, the Gramm agency created this fast-paced cinema spot with original Hollywood feeling – not least thanks to the digital effects of Irfan Celik, the digital-effects specialist behind the cinema highlights “Sin City” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”.

But the live-action portions produced on 35mm with a new Arriflex 435 ES camera against greenscreen also make their contribution to the impressive dynamism of the cinema spot: The shots made from a height of 7.50 meters and 360-degree moves, during which the actors stood on turntables, provide movement.

Realistic 3D backgrounds were designed with the help of Maxwell Render. Costly shooting in closed-off subway stations could thus be avoided. The abstract forms consisting of up to 13 different particle sources and 13 metal textures were also created in this way. Elaborately animated, they give the music a form. Last but not least, the combination of 3D animations with photographed city elements breathes life into the city.

The spot can be viewed or downloaded either in the cinema or on a specially set-up website (address see below).
