From October 23 to 26, SYSTEMS 2007 presents in its “Mobile Solutions” exhibition area in Hall B1 which new ideas, products and solutions the mobile world has in store for companies
Search engine for mobile Internet
An answer to the question “Smartphone or mobile phone, which device is the right one for my requirements?” can be found at SIC! Software GmbH in Hall B1 Stand 113 D. The manufacturer supplies the matching mobile business-to-business application for Mobile Java, Symbian OS, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile along with it. At SYSTEMS, SIC! Software presents Con2Mo pro, a white-label solution for optimized WAP push that is compatible with the data of more than 1,800 devices and easy to integrate.
The DOO Computersysteme department of the Ingenieurbüro für Technik + Umwelt presents a new development for mobile devices and platforms at trade-fair stand 113 B. “x-ops” is the name of the search engine for the mobile Internet, which has been optimized for mobile phone, smartphone and PDA. So far, more than 4,000 entries have been recorded in the database, and around 90,000 search queries are made each month – with a rising tendency. In future, even Apple users will be able to search on the road with x-ops, because the adaptation for the new Apple iPhone will be presented for the first time at SYSTEMS 2007.
ISC OpCorner AG shows at trade-fair stand 114 C how one can save taxes with one’s company car or manage the company fleet more cost-effectively. In cooperation with Opus AB, ISC Opcorner AG presents the Triplog electronic logbook, which automatically and precisely records the data of every business trip via GPS and vehicle electronics and transfers it to the PC in the company. Via an Internet portal that is currently being set up, ISC and Opus will in future offer a compact solution with which small and medium-sized companies can manage their vehicle fleet more efficiently and cost-effectively via the Internet.
In focus: Windows Mobile solutions
Anyone who has already decided on Microsoft’s mobile platform will find the latest PDAs and solutions for Windows Mobile at the joint Windows Mobile stand in Hall B1 Stand 310. At the stand, among others, ALK Technologies Ltd., Bittner + Krull Softwaresysteme, Corisecio, Cortado A Devision of ThinPrint, Dangaard Telecom Germany, Eye PC, Knowledge Intelligence and PDA Solutioncenter GmbH show a broad spectrum of mobile devices, smartphones, mobile business applications as well as consulting and installation services.
The software house Knowledge Intelligence appears with SAP-MI-based applications, tailor-made proprietary software solutions and a whole range of consulting services on the subject of “Mobile Business”: Field-service solutions for service technicians, maintenance and housing management will be shown. Integrated solutions for Mobile Field Services are the focus at Bittner + Krull: The core is the Argos mobile order-processing system, which can be extended with functions such as automated dispatching, geo-disposition, barcode support and workflow management.
Cortado presents products and online services for Windows Mobile smartphones such as Direct Push Mail, mobile access to the company network and premium services for printing and faxing documents. AKL Technologie, by contrast, places its “CoPilot Live” mobile navigation solution and the “FleetCenter” fleet-management system at the center of its SYSTEMS appearance. The manufacturer Corisecio has specialized in the protection of mobile applications and devices. With the aid of a modular Business Security Framework, mobile devices, portals and web services are intended to be secured.
Also taking part is the German branch of Dangaard Telecom, which recently merged with the US company Brightpoint Inc. The new company describes itself as a “Global Player” in the distribution of mobile devices, smartphones and accessories and at the same time positions itself as a close service and logistics partner of the mobile-communications industry. PDA Solutioncenter has specialized in products and solutions around the area of “Mobile Computing”. Its core competence lies in the area of PDA´s and smartphones with accessories as well as navigation software for mobile devices with Windows Mobile operating system. Eye PC concerns itself with the whole world of mobile data capture: The company offers everything from requirements analysis through software development and implementation to maintenance service from a single source.
A hands-on area has also been set up at the joint Windows Mobile stand, in which the various Windows Mobile devices can be seen and experienced. Everything is included, from the smartphone to the rugged Windows Mobile device.
RFID: Locate objects at any time
Also taking part for the third time is the special show “RFID Vision”: In Hall B1, Stand 109, exhibitors such as Contrinex, metra-tec, Paxar – Avery Dennison, Silverstroke and Warok show their current solutions for the practical use of RFID in the various areas of companies and industries. The focus here is particularly on RFID projects in the areas of warehousing, the tracking of people, animals or goods in real time, or monitoring within the entire supply chain. The exhibition spectrum ranges from innovative RFID labels through tag printers and mobile RFID capture devices to complete hardware and software solutions for the uninterrupted tracking of objects such as containers, operating equipment or vehicles. The Softlab company Silverstroke infoms about its Tagpilot software solution, which enables Auto-ID capture with browser-based tracking and is now used, among others, in the automotive and aviation industries at Ford, Airbus and Lufthansa Technik Logistik.
Fresh for SYSTEMS 2007, there is a new RFID industry guide with applications and providers that visitors can take away free of charge. From 11:30 hrs, trade-fair visitors are invited daily to an RFID talk at the forum in Hall B1. Experts discuss current RFID questions with users here, such as return-on-invest of RFID projects, standardization or data protection.
Summit meeting of the mobile-communications industry: Communication World
At “Communication World 2007” on 23 and 24.10. in the ICM, the top decision-makers of the industries, such as from Yahoo! Central Europe, O2 Germany, Arcor or Microsoft, discuss current trends and strategies in the mobile-communications and IP market. The changes in the mobile-communications sector are the focus of the first congress day, the Mobile Summit. Greater bandwidths enable an ever more extensive range of services and solutions. In Panel I, the CEOs of the mobile carriers discuss the grave setting of the course in mobile communications with the top companies from the Internet and IT world (Yahoo!, Microsoft). Panel II provides an overview of the very latest technologies and solutions in mobile communications, such as WiMax as high-speed transmission and the boom market of machine-to-machine communication (M2M), while Panel III highlights the top trend in the content sector with the subject of Mobile Communities.
