Andreas Kleinert’s “Freischwimmer” in Hof

Typhoon and distributor Novapool Pictures present Andreas Kleinert’s latest cinema film at the 41st Hof International Film Festival 2007 (October 23 to 28, 2007): “Freischwimmer”. The surrealisti c evil fairy tale already attracted great attention at the Venice Film Festival in the Giornate Degli Autori series.

The leading roles are played by Frederick Lau, August Diehl, Fritzi Haberlandt and Alice Dwyer. Novapool Pictures had already secured the distribution rights after the successful screenings in Venice.

Short synopsis:

Something terrible is brewing in a German small town. No one knows the background. Only one person: Rico Bartsch. The 15-year-old grammar-school student and total outsider loves the most beautiful girl in the school. What is an unfulfillable longing from the beginning becomes true at the end of the story. The beautiful Regine will beg for Rico’s love. On the way there, some residents of the town die an unnatural death.

The film is a co-production by Typhoon and WDR. The cinema release is in spring

2008.
