The 14th EuroMold takes place in Frankfurt from December 5 to 8, 2007. More than 60,000 trade visitors from around the world are again expected this year at the world trade fair for toolmaking and moldmaking, design and product development. Autodesk will be represented at EuroMold in Hall 6.0, booth F130, together with Ritter Sport, the well-known chocolate manufacturer. This year, the focus is on the subject of Digital Prototyping. With the Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Productstream solutions, Autodesk wants to show the efficiency gains contained in end-to-end digital product development.
To demonstrate the theory of digital processes in practice, Autodesk will illustrate the production of chocolate together with Ritter Sport. Making a chocolate sounds easier than it is.
Every Ritter Sport bar, regardless of variety and content, is brought to market weighing exactly 100 grams. However, because the different fillings often have a different specific weight, this difference is compensated by the thickness of the bar. Depending on the filling, the heights of the different chocolate varieties then vary. These requirements can be met with Autodesk Inventor and chocolate production can be followed virtually.
“Digital product development can be illustrated very well in this way. In the spirit of the trade-fair concept “From the idea through the prototype to the series”, using our solutions and together with our customer Ritter Sport, one can see very well what possibilities digital product development and virtual prototypes offer,” explains Burkhard Hörnig, Marketing Solution Manager MCAD at Autodesk.
