Bavaria Film at the Media Days

Representatives of the Bavaria Film Group will be present on various panels during the Munich Media Days 2007 from November 7 to 9 – headed by Bavaria Film Managing Director Dr Matthias Esche, who will discuss “Setting the course for German film – The amendment of the Film Promotion Act (FFG)” on Thursday, November 8 at 2 p.m.

Following a keynote by Minister of State for Culture Bernd Neumann and an introduction by FFF Bayern Managing Director Dr Klaus Schaefer, Esche will discuss with FFA President Eberhard Junkersdorf, the film-policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group, Angelika Krüger-Leißner, HDF Chairman Dr Thomas Negele, director Dr Peter Sehr and Arne Höhne from the Association of German Film Distributors.

„Industrial TV production“ is the subject of a panel intended to answer the question „New technologies and processes for more production value or cost savings at the expense of quality?“ on Wednesday, November 7 at 2 p.m. Stefan Roitzheim-Küfner, Head of Series Production at Bavaria Fernsehproduktion, will discuss with Rainer Wemcken, Managing Director Grundy UFA, BR Head of Programme Division Drama – Film – Series Bettina Reitz, Sat.1 Head of Series Joachim Kosack and Prof. Dr Johannes Kreile, Managing Legal Counsel of the German Television Producers Association.

The discussion round „Content to go: Production and content for mobile media“ on Friday, November 9 at 10 a.m. deals with new markets. The panel includes Tobias Gerlach, Head of Strategic Planning, Corporate Development & Communications at Bavaria Film, Bild.T-online Chairman Philipp Welte and Robert Amlung, Head of ZDF’s main editorial department „New Media“, among others.

Uschi Reich, successful producer and Managing Director of Bavaria Filmverleih und Produktion, will discuss the topic „Film and school – New developments in film education“ on Friday, November 9 at 2 p.m. Also taking part are Bernd Sibler, State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Cultural Affairs, and Detlef Ruffert, Managing Director of the Institute for Media Education and Communication as well as the Landesfilmdienst Hessen, among others.

„Young, mobile, interactive and always online?“ is the heading of a panel on which jobs in television and film will be discussed on Thursday, November 8 at 10 a.m. Robert Küppers, assistant to the management of Bavaria Fernsehproduktion, will also be there.

The service providers of the Bavaria Film Group, led by Head of Sales Markus Vogelbacher, will present themselves this year at the very centrally located booth S1 in the foyer. For the complete range of services for film and television, contacts from several companies, including Bavaria Production Services, Bavaria Film Interactive, the film and theatre outfitter FTA and of course Bavaria Studios, will be available for discussions at the original booth built by Bavaria Studios.
