Microsoft Germany is stepping up communication with its private customers starting today. As part of the “Consumer Preference Campaign”, consumers are informed about the expanded possibilities of Windows Vista, Windows Live OneCare, Windows Live Services and Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 in their own homes. The focus of the campaign is Nora, a young lady who encounters consumers as an avatar on the Internet, in traditional media, at the POS, in the Microsoft Showroom and on the Microsoft Windows portal “Nora’s World”.

“The networked home is also on the rise in Germany. This has been shown by the great success of our ‘Digital Lifestyle’ showroom in Munich, Berlin and Cologne, with more than 35,000 visitors to date. The new campaign builds on this and extends the presentation of the digital possibilities within one’s own four walls to the entire Federal Republic,” says Isabell Scheuber, Head of the Windows Business Division at Microsoft Germany GmbH.

On the “Your Digital World” website, Nora guides visitors through her virtual living room and makes the networked, digital world of Windows tangible. When clicking on a laptop, television or mobile phone, she illustrates in vivid film sequences what new possibilities the interplay of Windows Vista and Windows Live offers, for example in the usage scenarios television and films, photos, entertainment and productivity.

“The new homepage is characterized by its high level of interactivity. There is also a competition on the homepage that takes visitors on an interactive journey through time. Anyone who clicks through the site and experiences Nora’s networked world can collect points with every action and win great prizes such as a laptop, digital camera or a trip,” says Christiane Ritter, Consumer Manager of the Windows Business Division at Microsoft Germany.
