MacLive Expo 2007: Nearly 90 partners and exhibitors

MacLive Expo 2007, which takes place in Cologne from November 15 to 18, is Europe’s only trade fair at which the Apple products iPhone and Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”) as well as numerous other innovations are presented immediately after their market launch.

MacLive Expo, Germany’s only large trade fair for products and solutions relating to the Mac, is enjoying great interest in all areas: With 87 suppliers and manufacturers to date, the exhibition area of EXPO XXI is as good as fully booked; more than 10,000 visitors are already registered, meaning that half of the planned capacity has been reached.

A few days before the start of MacLive Expo 2007, Apple is newly launching strategically important products: the new Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard” operating system and the Apple iPhone for the German market. But the first comprehensive insights into the new Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac or the innovative product ranges of premium partner HP also set important accents for creative professionals and ambitious users.

With 38 Master Classes as well as extensive Master Tutorials, the workshop offering comprises more further-training opportunities for beginners, advanced users and professionals than ever before. The new Master Classes light are aimed specifically at the information needs of end consumers and potential converts to the Macintosh platform (“switchers”). Although the programme has been massively expanded and made more professional, prices have fallen compared with the previous year: Participation in the regular two-hour Master Classes costs 50 euros and in the Master Classes light (90 minutes) 20 euros.

But the protagonists of one of the central innovations of the trade fair have also been decided: MacLive Theater, an auditorium with 500 seats and a professional studio stage, can present a true star line-up from the scene: Doc Baumann, Carlo Blatz, Robert Hranitzky, Gerhard Koren, Chris Marquardt, Anton & Simone Ochsenkühn, Robin Preston and Uli Staiger are among the top speakers on the two trade visitor days (November 15 and 16). Photographer Thomas Hoepker (MAGNUM) and brand guru Reinhard Springer (founder of Springer & Jacoby) have been announced as keynote speakers.

MacLive Theater will offer a full programme with impressive presentations and interesting topics on all four days of MacLive Expo. On the end-consumer days (November 17 and 18), there will be an increased focus on topics under the motto “Experience the Mac world” relating to using the Mac as well as new products. Admission to MacLive Theater is included in the trade fair ticket price.

The new joint-booth concept “MacBusinessPark” was successfully marketed in cooperation with the Internet portal OSXpert.biz. A good two weeks before the start of the fair, 20 exhibitors have already registered for the booth concept specifically tailored to the needs of corporate customers. For the first time, SAP is represented at a Mac trade fair with Gold Partner UNIORG Solutions. Partners with an expanded presence also include 4D, Mono Systems and TOPIX. As part of the business theme park, visitors receive information on relevant products and services relating to the use of Mac systems in companies. The target group is self-employed people and decision-makers in small and medium-sized companies.
