43 years after «The Three Investigators???» saw the light of day in novel form, they are now finally coming to cinemas. Directed by Munich native Florian Baxmeyer, winner of the Student Oscar for the short film «The Red Jacket», the spectacular cinema version of the classic was made in South Africa.

In the film, Justus Jonas, Peter Shaw and Bob Andrews from Rocky Beach near Hollywood plunge into an exciting and gripping mixture of adventure, crime and mystery. He had still been a film student in Hamburg when he heard of the plans for a film adaptation of the famous trio’s adventures, director Florian Baxmeyer recalls. «I then immediately quoted a passage from my favorite volume “The Green Ghost” in the application. That left a lasting impression and I received the offer to direct my first children’s project».

The title song «Hide and Seek» was also contributed by an avowed fan – Sasha. To date, the 134 novels featuring the cases of the three young detectives have sold more than 30 million copies, the production company Studio Hamburg International announced. According to this, the radio play series, which has delighted its young listeners since 1979, is no less successful.

The film comes to cinemas on November 8.
