With Service Pack 1 for Autodesk Inventor 2008, Autodesk now provides its users with full support for the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system as well as for all 64-bit Windows systems. The Service Pack is available free of charge and can be downloaded from the Autodesk US website. It promises better performance when used with Windows Vista due to native support for Microsoft Direct3D graphics technology. Windows Vista Enterprise, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Ultimate are supported.

In addition, with the new Service Pack, Autodesk Inventor 2008 supports the two graphics interfaces Direct3D 9 and OpenGL. Users with a high-end graphics card for OpenGL can continue to use the advantages of Windows Vista if they have installed the corresponding Direct3D driver.
