Realviz introduced a complete Movimento motion-capture package using eight cameras. The French image-processing company positioned the kit for capturing facial, hand, arm and full-body movement without the constraints of a conventional mocap studio.
Tracking configuration
Movimento used Realviz’s SMART tracking engine to record non-rigid subjects such as people and animals. The system could operate with two or more cameras, which could be fixed or moving and use different frame rates and formats.
Hardware and recording
The package included dongle-protected software, eight Gigabit Ethernet cameras and a PC with an Intel Core Duo processor, Windows XP Professional, 2 GB RAM and eight video drives. Each camera recorded 640 × 400-pixel, 8-bit images at 90 frames per second, with capacity for 205 minutes per camera.
The eight-camera Movimento kit was available through Realviz dealers or directly from the company for $39,500 while supplies lasted. Realviz provided a one-year warranty for the complete camera system.
