A Life for a Life – Adam Resurrected

It is the story of a man who was once a dog and meets a dog who was once a boy. With these words, director Paul Schrader described the film adaptation of the bestseller Adam, Son of a Dog by Yoram Kaniuk during the first press conference as part of this year’s Berlinale.

The producers of this extraordinary co-production, Ehud Bleiberg (Bleiberg

Entertainment, Beverly Hills) and Werner Wirsing (3L Filmproduktion, Dortmund), had invited international press representatives in order to present the international cast for the first time and before shooting began.

In addition to the two American top stars and lead actors Jeff Goldblum („Jurassic Park“, „Independence Day“) and Willem Dafoe („Spider-Man“, „Wild at Heart“), Ayelet Zurer („Munich“), Hana Laslo (Silver Palm as best actress at Cannes 2005 for „Free Zone“), Joachim Król („Gloomy Sunday – A Song of Love and Death“), Sir Derek Jakobi („Gladiator“), Veronica Ferres („Klimt“), Moritz Bleibtreu („Elementary Particles“), Juliane Köhler („Nowhere in Africa“), Evgenia Dodina („Love and Dance“) and Idan Alterman („Ha-Hesder – Time of Favor“) can be seen in further roles.

Shooting took place from April to July 2007 in Romania and Israel. A LIFE FOR A LIFE – ADAM RESURRECTED is now in postproduction and is being processed in Germany at Das Werk (picture) and Ruhrsound (Dortmund). The German theatrical release by 3L Filmverleih is planned for 2008.
