FDT 3.0 – the development tool for Flash enters the next round

Grown from the experience of a large community, FDT 3.0 serves the wishes and needs of beginners and professionals alike. Big names in the scene, developer teams and many hard-working lone fighters have significantly shaped the development of the new version with their ideas and concepts.

Anyone who realizes projects in Flash and/or ActionScript 2 or ActionScript 3 cannot get around FDT. Time-saving and relaxed Flash/AS developments are a matter of course with FDT 3.0.

The increase in efficiency from FDT in everyday programmer life can be substantiated. At the launch of the new versions, a user survey produced outstanding results: 65 percent of all participants state that they can realize projects at least twice as fast than before. 11 percent of the participants go so far beyond this as to estimate that they can work ten times faster with FDT. The convenience that the Eclipse extension brings to daily work was also rated. 81 percent of all respondents find that their work is improved by FDT. In addition, 16 percent even attest FDT an outstanding improvement of the working environment.

The plug-in for Eclipse first emerged in the idea forge of Powerflasher GmbH in 2004. In search of a suitable development tool for Flash that offers even remotely a level of convenience comparable to JDT, the Powerflashers found that such a tool simply did not exist. Without further ado, they created a development environment under their own steam that conquered the Flash scene within a very short time. The early motto „Pure coding comfort“ is still characteristic today, but the comparatively small plug-in has meanwhile become an extensive tool.

After several months of development time, a product range is now available that comes with a range of functions that inspires developers around the world.

For junior developers who want to structure and organize their source code, FDT 3.0 Basic offers an entry into professional programming. If the projects are extensive and confusing, different programmers work on the source code as a team or clear workflows should determine the work, FDT 3.0 Professional offers an ideal solution. With FDT 3.0 Enterprise, the Powerflashers serve a customer group that has a greater need for service. In addition to further features, the Enterprise version includes detailed support and the opportunity to participate in training courses. Programmers can learn first-hand from the FDT experts at favorable conditions what can be gotten out of FDT 3.0 and how the points decisive for those responsible for budgets, ROI and a sustainable increase in efficiency, can be achieved in the shortest possible time.

Closeness to developers and to the Flash scene is a driving factor in everything that has to do with FDT. Thus, a tour through Germany will take place in November and FDT will be presented at various locations by one of the developers. In this way, the Powerflashers address interested editorial offices as well as agencies and decision-makers who would like to reduce the development times of their Flash projects considerably.
