This noticeably improves the entire workflow. SolidWorks’ eDrawings 2008, a free viewing and publishing application for exchanging 2D drawings and 3D models, is also supported by the 3Dconnexion product line. Everyone involved in product development can therefore use a 3D mouse to view, review and annotate models in eDrawings easily. Through its collaboration with SolidWorks, 3Dconnexion continues its strategy of specifically supporting leading 3D software products.
Product design with SolidWorks 2008 is now easier: thanks to 3Dconnexion’s 3D mice, engineers and designers can navigate their 3D models intuitively and quickly, allowing them to concentrate fully on the creative process. A slight movement of the 3D-mouse cap is sufficient to move, rotate or zoom 3D objects in one fluid motion—something not possible with a standard mouse and keyboard alone.
Controlling the 3D mouse is as simple as holding the model in one’s hand and viewing it from all sides. Programmable buttons provide direct access to frequently used functions, while the view buttons on the SpaceExplorer and SpacePilot 3D mice provide standard model views at the touch of a button. The 3D mice complement the computer mouse and are operated with the free hand.
