The picoSMD035F component is designed for the latest generation of high-speed data ports, I/O ports and memory components, and is the market’s smallest PPTC overcurrent-protection component for consumer electronics and computing.
Compared with earlier components, the new EIA-compliant 0805 (2012 mm) form factor of the picoSMD035F occupies around half as much PCB space, offering significant benefits for board designs with tight space constraints.
“The picoSMD035F’s small size, short trip time and low power loss make this component a logical and innovative solution for highly integrated PCB designs,” said Martin Kram, Business Director EMEA at Tyco Electronics.
The picoSMD035F is designed for a supply voltage of 6V and offers a hold current of 0.35A, a trip current of 0.75A and a maximum resistance of 1.4 ohms. The component complies with common safety standards, offers excellent solderability through nickel-gold plating of its edge contacts, and is RoHS compliant. Production quantities are available immediately in tape packaging.
