Autodesk is holding the 3December events from December 3 – 7, 2007, to celebrate 3D artists and their work. For the ninth time, Autodesk is giving its 3D software users the opportunity to exchange experience and know-how and make contacts.
„Members of the worldwide 3D community repeatedly break new ground with their outstanding work and set standards in the film, TV and games industry as well as in the world of visual communication,“ says Marc Petit, Senior Vice President at Autodesk Media & Entertainment. „Every year, with our 3December event, we honour the Artitsts and celebrate their fantastic works that they create with our solutions.“
The 3D products from Autodesk Media & Entertainment include Mudbox Digital Sculpting as well as the modelling, animation and rendering software 3ds Max and Maya, and MotionBuilder for character animation.
For this week of celebration, the AREA Community Website is the online meeting place. AREA will offer more than 150,000 registered members a selection of free content, including videos, tutorials, galleries and downloads. Artists can become members of the community free of charge; they only need to register on the Area website.
Autodesk will also offer various live events in the USA:
· Atlanta, December 3: Bill Harper from The Dreamhive will show his work with Mudbox, Turner Studios will demonstrate its recently completed television graphics, and local artists will also show their work
· Toronto, December 4: This event will feature presentations by Duncan Brinsmead, Principal Scientist at Autodesk, and Dave Cardwell, one of the creators of Mudbox.
· Los Angeles, December 6: Sony Pictures Imageworks presents its work on the recently released 3D film Beowulf.
In addition, Autodesk Animation User Group Association (AAUGA) groups are organising 3December meetings in various cities, such as London, Dallas and Minneapolis.
