Vizrt and RTT Release Advanced Materials Shaders

RTT Advanced Materials adds twelve real-time material shaders and around sixty example scenes to Viz Artist 3.1.

RTT Advanced Materials is integrated into Viz Artist 3.1 and expands virtual television studios with more realistic rendering of computer-generated objects and animation. Artists can select from additional shaders to build materials using current shader techniques.

Christian Huber, Director of Operations at Vizrt, says the transition from standard definition to high definition increases demand for sharper, more photorealistic real-time graphics in virtual studios.

The package contains twelve shaders based on RTT technology for materials including carbon fibre, metal, glass and relief textures. Each shader responds to Vizrt light sources, base textures, materials and settings such as colour, specular highlights and opacity.

Users also receive approximately sixty example scenes containing presets that demonstrate how RTT Advanced Materials can be used.

Ludwig A. Fuchs, co-founder and board member of RTT AG, says the companies plan to extend their cooperation through further projects.
