According to the company, Maya Muscle provides technical directors and animators with the tools they need for detailed animation and design of skin, such as “muscle and skin” sculpting and deformation tools (e.g. wrinkles).
The software is integrated into the Maya 2008 workflow, so the user does not have to adjust and finds the familiar interface and workflow features.
Automatic rigs and real-time jiggle tweaking are additionally provided.
Autodesk Maya 2008 Extension 1 is now available as a download for Autodesk Maya 2008 Complete and Autodesk Maya 2008 Unlimited subscription customers with Gold Support. Extension 1 is not available as individual software.
Prices are around 2,099 euros for Maya 2008 Complete (standalone) and 7,349 euros for Maya 2008 Unlimited (standalone). The upgrade from Maya 8.5 Complete to Maya 2008 Complete is available for 869 euros, the upgrade from Maya 8.5 Unlimited to Maya 2008 Unlimited for 1,199 euros (Gold Support for Maya 2008 Complete (standalone) 1,364 euros, Maya 2008 Unlimited 1,639 euros).
