In view of the federal government’s clear rejection of easing immigration regulations, the private-sector initiative comes at exactly the right time. After intensive preparations in recent months, BVDW representatives

were now able to give the starting signal for the novel qualification offering, which at the beginning comprises around 50 different offerings in the core areas of the digital value chain.

“The results of the last IT summit prove our approach of bringing providers and demanders together without political support right”, says BVDW

Vice President Harald R. Fortmann (advertising.com Deutschland GmbH). “With the demand-oriented offerings, which will be successively increased over the next weeks and months, we want to tackle the virulent problem quickly and effectively.” The offerings range from university degree courses to very targeted seminars from private education providers. All offerings are distinguished by the fact that they have previously been evaluated and approved by an advisory board on which the affected industry segments are represented. In addition, all participating education providers have undergone an extensive

quality audit. The Academy of the Digital Economy at the current time from initially five educational institutions: cimdata.de Medienakademie Berlin, dda – die dialog akademie, DEKRA-Akademie, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences – Technology and Business, and TeleLearn-Akademie. The BVDW is in negotiations with further educational institutions and universities.

In order to ensure that the offerings have high practical relevance, with the help of companies from the various industry segments (organised in the BVDW

specialist groups), the requirement profiles of the specialists currently most in demand were determined in order, in a second step, to define educational offerings in a targeted manner. These are now offered by the educational providers and academies as largely standardised offerings via the “Academy of the Digital Economy”. In order to ensure the quality of the offerings, the respective providers and educational programmes are reviewed in advance by representatives of the corresponding specialist groups and the BVDW. The proof of concept for the overarching initiative was the new dda qualification Certified Online Marketing Specialist, whose pilot phase was recently completed extremely successfully.
