The fifth adventure of wizard pupil Harry Potter and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger was number one in the hit list for two weeks. The film could not quite match the successes of its predecessors. Only “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” (6.5 million visitors) were seen by fewer people across Germany.
The surprise success of the year is “Ratatouille”. 5.91 million cinema-goers devoured the animated film. It is third in the annual ranking and is so far the second most successful Pixar film of all time.
Second place goes to Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew. 6.07 million viewers made the tills ring for “Pirates of the Caribbean – At World’s End”.
Reunions are a joy! Shrek (“Shrek the Third”, fifth place), Peter Parker as superhero Spider-Man (“Spider-Man 3”, position seven) and secret agent Jason Bourne (“The Bourne Ultimatum”, rank 13) returned to the screen in 2007.
Great success for “Keinohrhasen”: Since its launch on 20.12.2007, 1.36 million visitors have already seen the romantic comedy. Two strong weeks are enough for 20th place in the annual charts. The film by and starring Til Schweiger currently leads the media control cinema charts.
Even extraterrestrial monsters do not scare the rabbit away, and it holds newcomer “Aliens vs. Predator 2” (459,000 sci-fi fans) in second place. Third position goes to the Disney Christmas film “Enchanted” (344,000 interested people), starring Patrick Dempsey, Amy Adams and Susan Sarandon.
