3Dconnexion mice add TurboCAD 14 support

3Dconnexion’s 3D mice now support TurboCAD Deluxe 14, TurboCAD Pro 14 and TurboSketch Studio on Windows XP.

3Dconnexion’s SpacePilot, SpaceExplorer, SpaceTraveler and SpaceNavigator mice now support TurboCAD Deluxe 14. The devices also work with TurboCAD Pro 14 for 3D surface and solid modelling and with TurboSketch Studio, a LightWorks-based plug-in for creating photorealistic models with Google SketchUp.

Unlike a conventional two-dimensional mouse, a 3D mouse lets users pan, rotate and zoom 3D objects with one hand while operating the standard mouse with the other.

Robert Mayer, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of IMSI/Design, said the support was intended to improve design workflows for TurboCAD users.

Dieter Neujahr, President of 3Dconnexion, said the TurboCAD integration extended the company’s work into the mass CAD market and provided consistent navigation across 3D applications.

The devices support more than 120 applications, including Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3ds Max, Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended, Cinema 4D, formZ and widely used 3D CAD packages.
