Following acclaimed festival presentations in Cannes, Toronto and Sitges, among others, and its incredible box-office success in its home country of Spain, THE ORPHANAGE continues its triumphal progress.

THE ORPHANAGE is not an ordinary thriller embellished with supernatural elements, but possesses the intensity and element of surprise to captivate the viewer completely, shock and move them. Juan Antonio Bayona’s cinema debut was produced by mystery specialist Guillermo del Toro (“Pan’s Labyrinth”, “Hellboy”, “Blade 2″). THE ORPHANAGE screened at this year’s Cannes Film Festival as part of the “Semaine de la Critique” and was received there euphorically and with standing ovations. Bayona’s debut film also took its home country of Spain by storm: during its first six weeks, THE ORPHANAGE ranked number one in the Spanish cinema charts and grossed more than 23 million euros there. THE ORPHANAGE was also selected to represent Spain in the preliminary selection for the Oscar in the Best Foreign-Language Film of 2007 category.
