Autodesk at Hannover Messe

From April 21 to 25, Autodesk and its partners will present the new versions of their product range at the leading Digital Factory trade fair, held as part of Hannover Messe 2008. Digital Prototyping is the focus this year. The Autodesk Inventor 3D design solution and the Autodesk Productstream Professional PDM system, which form the basis for digital product development, will be shown. In addition, Autodesk will show products including Autodesk AliasStudio, Autodesk Showcase and AutodCAD Mechanical, which – depending on the company-specific product-development process – can cover design, visualisation and the creation of manufacturing documents.

With the Rapid X special show, Autodesk is making another statement at the trade fair. Also in Hall 17, the software company will bring networked product development to life. Rapid X offers the unique opportunity to experience digital product-development processes from beginning to end using a real example. With its customer HUBTEX as the practical partner, a real-life process chain is being constructed that shows how important and interesting it is for medium-sized companies to pay attention to continuity in data and product development. This is also demonstrated by an Autodesk study, which concluded that medium-sized companies that do not work in continuous digital process chains forgo cost savings of around 800,000 euros per year.

“We want to help companies exploit this potential. Using Rapid X, they can obtain a clear picture of the productivity advantages and possibilities of digital product development,” says Burkhard Hörnig, Marketing Solution Manager for Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering at Autodesk. “HUBTEX, for example, is currently undergoing a major transformation in the field of new digital processes for all of product development. With the help of Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Productstream Professional, the company can thereby save physical prototypes, development time and costs.”

Autodesk will be represented at Hannover Messe with the following partners: B&L CAD Systemhaus GmbH & Co. KG NL Nord, CINTEG AG, Contelos GmbH, AVACAD GmbH, plmteam GmbH, Dreieck Systemhaus GmbH, N+P Informationssysteme GmbH, Bechtle GmbH & Co. KG, Arnold IT Systems GmbH & Co.
