Millions of Standard Components Available in KOMPAS-3D

ASCON Group and TraceParts have integrated their mechanical-CAD solutions, enabling KOMPAS users to import purchased and standard components directly from the TraceParts library of more than 100 million 3D CAD models and 2D drawings.

The TraceParts library can be accessed directly from KOMPAS-3D, and selected models are automatically inserted into the active assembly. Combining the library with KOMPAS-3D’s parametric 3D modeling and 2D drafting tools is intended to let designers, engineers and other users focus more on their core design work.

“Integration with TraceParts is a very important step for ASCON in expanding KOMPAS globally,” said ASCON Group CEO Maxim Bogdanov. He said the library supplements ASCON’s database with catalogs from component manufacturers and can improve users’ design productivity.

“We are very pleased with the partnership with ASCON,” said TraceParts managing director Gabriel Guigue. He said the integration could help component suppliers publishing 3D catalogs through TraceParts reach new customers, while KOMPAS users would no longer need to model standard parts themselves.
