3D Visualization: Experts for the Future

The Hamburg-based Academy for Electronic Publishing, Art & Design (AEP) described the two-day launch event for its “3D REALTIME” training program as a complete success.

Many Hamburg agencies attended to learn about the possibilities of 3D. One highlight was a presentation by Christian Braun, Head of Visualization for Strategic Projects at Style Porsche, who sees real-time 3D visualization as the future of product presentation.

“If Hamburg wants to further establish itself as a media location, we also need highly trained designers who can work professionally with the latest 3D technologies,” said Ralf Voss, academic director at AEP. For that reason, AEP and Munich-based RTT, Realtime Technology AG, will launch a continuing-education program in real-time 3D visualization in April 2008.

The program begins with RTT DeltaGen training. The compact three-day course covers the fundamentals of the visualization software. Participants will work with scene structures, high-quality visual effects, light sources, shadow calculation and more. The course costs €1,200 and runs from 7 to 9 April 2008. RTT AG will provide instructors with expertise in real-time 3D visualization.

The program is aimed at people working in 3D design, industrial design, CAD engineering, photography, architecture and advertising. “For career changers with relevant previous 3D experience, our program opens up new professional opportunities,” Voss said.

Additional courses are planned. The training will have a modular structure, with courses lasting between three and ten days depending on the subject.

All courses will take place at AEP’s facilities in the Gaußstraße media center. More information is available at http://www.aep-realtime.de.

RTT AG is a global provider of real-time 3D visualization technologies and services for industrial applications in the automotive, aerospace and consumer-goods sectors.

AEP trains Hamburg media designers in 3D design and animation as well as visual design. Its Hamburg media designer training program has been officially recognized by Hamburg’s cultural authority since the beginning of the year.
