Spycer is standalone software developed specifically for content management in image-data-intensive postproduction. The application for Mac OS, Windows and Linux has numerous new features intended to simplify searching, editing and managing image data and its metadata. Spycer 1.3 offers new features such as Job Scheduler, 3D LUT Preview and virtual burn-in. In addition, formats such as QuickTime and OpenEXR.
To relieve users in their everyday workflow, Spycer 1.3 now allows them to run demanding and important processes such as copying or defragmentation through Job Scheduler. The scheduler automatically carries out the steps at specific times or at freely selectable intervals.
Editors, colourists and producers can now also access QuickTime and OpenEXR thanks to the expanded range of graphics formats supported by Spycer. In total, the software recognises more than 100 graphics and container formats and displays them in the integrated media player.
Spycer 1.3’s new folder-search function enables users to search folders and data paths specifically for particular content. This feature optimises the extensive possibilities for finding and editing data with Spycer.
In the preview area, 3D LUTs (look-up tables) can be displayed as colour cubes and the associated parameters shown in the header text. Virtual burn-in makes it possible to transfer timecode, keycode or frame numbers to the data being used and improve clarity in the workflow.
Developed by DVS, the Spycer data manager enables users to handle extremely large amounts of image data and provides useful tools for browsing, file searches and data management. As an open system, Spycer supports both conventional IT infrastructures and all DVS products. Thanks to its scalable content management network, SpycerNet, in which multiple Spycer applications can interact and exchange metadata, the application requires neither central storage nor a central database to implement network-wide browsing and clip searches across a company’s network.
