CHARACTER RIGGING IN MAYA
FOR BEGINNERS AND PROFESSIONALS
March 15, 2008, in Munich
Speaker: Carla Heinzel
Graduate of the renowned Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg GmbH, specialising in character rigging, with project experience at CA Scanline (“Lissi und der wilde Kaiser”) and Trixter Film GmbH (“Lilly the witch – the dragon and the magic book”).
Content: The seminar is divided into a beginners’ section in the morning and a professional course in the afternoon. Participants’ own questions will also be discussed through practical exercises.

Speakers: character animator Harald Siepermann and character designer Greg Manwaring
Both speakers have worked on international productions and draw on a wealth of professional experience. Whether Brother Bear, Mulan or The Lion King – these speakers were involved and offer a behind-the-scenes look at major blockbuster productions from Disney or Dreamworks.
Content: The “Animated Charaters” seminar is devoted entirely to character animation. The internationally distinguished speakers will share their experience and knowledge from various areas of character animation with participants.

Content:
One of the most important prerequisites for creating a character is that all the creative people involved in an animated film know the fundamentals of acting – and not just in theory. Everyone should learn for themselves how to use gestures and facial expressions, speech, pace and rhythm to create characters that audiences love.
