Aspiring architects and engineers can master all their planning tasks during their studies with the new student version of Nemetschek Allplan.

From design through structural planning and structural analysis to cost estimation and visualisation, the software package contains all the functions of a commercial version and thus offers ideal preparation for the demands of professional life.

In addition to Allplan Freihand, the tool for creating digital sketches, and the structural analysis programme from Friedrich und Lochner, the new student version contains the full functionality of Allplan BIM 2008. Aspiring architects and engineers can thus get to know the advantages of 2D drafting and 3D planning.

Allplan is the only CAD solution on the market to support both working methods in a single system. The 3D approach in particular offers considerable potential for efficiency and is being used increasingly widely. This starts with easy modification and updating options and extends to a wide variety of additional work results such as sections or visualisations.

However, the interdisciplinary planning tool can be used not only to create architectural models and design complex structural systems, but also to calculate quantities and costs. Reliable cost planning is an increasingly important criterion for securing a commission.

Nemetschek has therefore put together a package that, alongside the Allplan BIM

2008 planning software, also contains Allplan BCM (Building Cost Management), a solution for construction cost management and AVA. Students can thus begin addressing cost issues at an early stage.

In addition to the new software package, Nemetschek Allplan has expanded its training offering for students: in classroom sessions and online tutorials, aspiring architects learn to design buildings and visualise them realistically.
