Franzis Verlag, part of WEKA Media Publishing, is releasing Nik Color Efex Pro 2.0 Complete through its cooperation with Nik Software.
The package contains 75 colour-correction and creative effects. It works with Photoshop and other image-processing applications that support the Adobe plug-in interface, including PaintShop Pro and PhotoImpact.
Nik Color Efex Pro 2.0 Complete runs on Windows 98 SE, Windows XP and Windows Vista. It was scheduled for retail availability in mid-March 2008 at €98.
The interface uses sliders for filter settings and can display original and preview images side by side for real-time comparison. Advanced Control adjusts highlight and shadow detail during tonal correction. A histogram combines colour and tonal distribution after a filter is applied.
Filters support 8-bit and 16-bit images in RGB, Lab and greyscale modes, as well as CMYK for prepress work.
Jörg Schulz, Software Programme Manager at Franzis Verlag, said the release continued the publisher’s cooperation with Nik Software and offered the professional image-processing application at one third of its original price.
