Warsaw broadcaster Telewizja Polsat S.A. now has a comprehensive new Avid newsroom system with Avid iNEWS, Unity ISIS and Interplay as its main components.
Bulgarian National Television in Sofia acquired the AirSpeed video server for its entire television production alongside Avid Unity ISIS central storage and the Avid Interplay nonlinear workflow engine.
Further additions include Media Composer as a digital nonlinear editing system for film and video, along with Avid Capture Manager, iNEWS, NewsCutter, Interplay Archive and a robotic tape library. The order is worth €2.5 million and is planned as a phased introduction. The first phase installs an on-air production system, followed by full integration of the remaining systems during the second phase from April to July 2008. Completion of the new Avid installation is planned for the final quarter of 2008.
Croatian production company Nova TV Croatia in Zagreb is using Avid Interplay and Unity ISIS for production of its reality show “The Farm”. The company also deploys Avid Transfer Manager to send data and projects after editing. Further additions include SeaChange and Avid Interplay Archive. The complete system is currently in testing and is due to go on air on 1 April 2008. The new Avid order has a budget of €500,000.
Balkan News Corporation, a Bulgarian subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation, acquired a combination of Avid Unity ISIS, Interplay, Media Composer and AirSpeed for its entire news production operation in 2007, with a direct connection to the ENPS newsroom system.
