The new Toast 9 enables Mac users to burn high-definition material from HD camcorders and HD programmes from Elgato EyeTV devices to Blu-ray Disc. For Mac users who do not yet have a Blu-ray burner or media, the HD/BD plug-in also enables HD videos and slideshows to be burned onto standard DVDs. The optional HD/BD plug-in provides HD DVD and Blu-ray BDMV video authoring.
For mobile entertainment, Roxio is introducing a new module called Roxio Streamer™. The technology streams videos from a home Mac to an iPhone or iPod touch connected through Wi-Fi, as well as to any internet-connected Mac or PC. For music enthusiasts who want to compile their own music CDs and DVDs, Toast 9 can record tracks broadcast by internet radio stations. Another Toast feature for recorded music automatically matches tags, song titles, artists and other relevant information.
Toast 9 is compatible with Macintosh computers using PowerPC G4, PowerPC G5 or Intel processors and running OS X 10.4.x or Mac OS X 10.5.x. It has been available from retailers since the end of March for €99.99. HD DVD and Blu-ray BDMV video-authoring functions require the additional HD/BD plug-in, priced at €19.99. Customers who choose the download version from http://www.roxio.de by 13 April receive the plug-in free of charge.
