David Rice (Hayden Christensen) always thought he was an entirely ordinary guy — until he discovers by chance that he is a “jumper”. In seconds, he can teleport to Tokyo, to the Colosseum in Rome or to the pyramids of Giza. He gives his girlfriend (Rachel Bilson) twenty sunsets in one night. Or he helps himself to a few million from the nearest bank vault. But then his life takes a dramatic turn. Pursued by a secret organisation, the “paladins”, who want to eliminate people like him, David joins forces with another “jumper” (Jamie Bell) to take on their dangerous leader Roland (Samuel L. Jackson). And David realises that he is the key figure in a war thousands of years old between the “jumpers” and the “paladins”.
Director Doug Liman (“Mr. & Mrs. Smith”, “The Bourne Identity”) is quite literally taking a great leap: in his latest film JUMPER, a fast-paced action spectacular, the expert in innovative action thrills audiences with breathtakingly staged special effects and an exciting star ensemble. Alongside Hayden Christensen (“Star Wars: Episode II & III”) are Jamie Bell (“Hallam Foe”, “Billy Elliot”), Rachel Bilson (“The O.C.”, “The Last Kiss”) and superstars Diane Lane (“Unfaithful”) and Samuel L. Jackson (“Pulp Fiction”).
