Pinnacle Systems’ Pinnacle Studio 11 video-editing software is increasingly finding fans in the rapidly growing computer-games market. With video-recording devices such as Pinnacle Studio MovieBox, gaming fans can record their record-breaking performances in Pinnacle Studio 11 and show them to others as proof or guidance.
“Today, absolutely anything can be presented with video. High-quality videos are generally watched more frequently than lower-quality ones, which makes Studio ideally suited to this purpose,” says Hossain el Ouarichi, Marketing Manager Central Europe at Pinnacle Systems Germany. “The same approach can also be used to create tutorial videos that show hand movements in slow motion and help others improve their gaming results.”
Recording and replaying unforgettable gaming sessions and high scores
Even computer gamers with no video-editing experience can record their sessions, drag them onto the timeline and document the most interesting sections together with the game’s final score in a video. Pinnacle Studio provides numerous transitions, titles and special effects for tutorial videos. Users can, for example, first document a gaming technique at normal speed and then show the same sequence again in slow motion, or even use still images and overlaid text to explain a particular approach in greater detail.
Games for mobile devices are a high-growth market segment
According to the German Trade Association of Interactive Entertainment Software (BIU), German video-game players are increasingly switching to games consoles and mobile devices. In 2007, revenue from German games software rose by 21 percent to €1.36 billion. In the same year, revenue from console games grew by 38 percent to €904 million. Games for mobile devices proved to be the fastest-growing market segment. According to the BIU, revenue there rose by 65 percent to €360 million, with casual players increasingly entering the market.
