Interested applicants must complete a short questionnaire so that the company can gain insight into the target group’s needs. After selecting applicants, Side Effects will form groups of testers to cover as wide a range of Mac systems as possible.
An open beta will be made available to the Mac community in early summer.
Details of the feature set and release dates will be available when the open beta begins.
Side Effects Software also announced that the user interface has been made more “artist-friendly” to adapt it to the Mac as effectively as possible. According to the company, Apple’s switch to Intel processors also has an immediate positive effect on processor power for Houdini artists.
When the Mac version is released, Windows and Linux versions will also be available so users can move between platforms without difficulty. The Mac version is intended to match the other systems in performance and features.
