While budgets shrink, the need for in-house artists and freelancers grows to meet demands for faster project completion. More people must complete more work, deliver on time, and remain creative, all within the specified budget. With currently available VFX tools, that is nearly impossible. For their daily project work, artists need tools and workflows that allow them to work creatively while retaining control over project organization.
Over the years, creative content has developed into a mixture of many postproduction disciplines: editing, grading, 2D design, 3D modeling, animation, compositing, and finishing. Film and video are converging. The complex workflows of large projects create a gap between an artist’s task and the tools they use. Imagineer Systems’ Mogul aims to bridge this gap. It supports a group of closely connected, modular VFX systems and applications.
