Staszek Marek of Poland wins first prize for his work “Complex at the Centre of the Universe”. Sergey Skachkov of Russia follows in second place with “The Great Bayan”, while Briton Andrew Barton takes third place with his “Mega Village 2018”. The digital artworks will be on show at Nvidia’s NVISION 08. The mega-event from August 25 to 27 transforms the entire Californian city of San José into a mecca for graphics enthusiasts: thousands of participants are expected from around the world, including designers, artists, filmmakers, developers, inventors and cyber-athletes.
The winning works from NVArt “Art Space: Architecture and Landscape”, which have already been exhibited at Tate Modern in London and the San José Museum of Art, can be viewed online at. Further information on NVISION 08 is available on the website.
“We invited artists to take inspiration from star architects such as Frank Gehry and delve into the depths of their imagination”, says Mark Snoswell, president of CGSociety. “Our artists have designed wonderful places of pure art, where you wake up every morning and delight in the play of light on fantastic spaces and the vibrant fusion of light, colour and texture.”
The next NVArt competition is already under way. Artists can submit their 2D and 3D visions for “Digital Fusion” until June 19. Further information on this at.
