equinux released VPN Tracker 5.2, an update to its IPSec-based VPN client for Mac OS X. In cooperation with SonicWALL, the company simplified VPN configuration with the manufacturer’s devices to reduce administration costs.

VPN Tracker 5.2 supports Simple Client Provisioning for SonicWALL gateway firmware. Client Policy Provisioning allows a VPN to be deployed with minimal effort: VPN Tracker downloads the configuration file directly from the gateway once the user enters the gateway’s domain name or IP address.

Support is available from SonicOS Standard 3.9 and SonicOS enhanced 4.0 onwards. Simple Client Provisioning became part of VPN Tracker 5.2 Professional, and registered users could install the update free of charge through the integrated updater or download it from the equinux website.
