At the first summer-like weekend of the year, cinema box offices were quiet. 72,000 visitors were enough for Andy Tennant’s Fool’s Gold to take third place in the media control cinema charts.
Sommer remained at the top of the ranking with 126,000 visitors, around 100,000 fewer than at its opening weekend. The Wave took second place with 79,000 admissions, bringing its total to more than two million viewers; the film received the German Film Award in Bronze, while supporting actor Frederick Lau also received a Lola.
21 and Street Kings fell in the rankings, while the French animated film The Three Investigators narrowly missed the Top Five.
