Autodesk recently announced that Blue Ridge Numerics is taking part in the company’s Preferred Industry Partner program. The global software developer in fluid-flow and heat-transfer simulation is thereby expanding its collaboration with Autodesk.
The program promotes the development of practical, integrated software solutions that actively support the capabilities of Autodesk’s 3D solutions and offer users effective added value. Blue Ridge Numerics already has a long-standing partnership with Autodesk. In 2002, the company introduced CFdesign for Inventor, the first CFD software to use native Autodesk Inventor parts for the analysis of associative designs.
Today, CFdesign supplements Inventor’s functionality for creating digital prototypes with an interactive flow test bench, a thermal test bench and a wind tunnel. Engineers can thus visualize aspects of product performance directly in their design environment that could not be obtained through conventional physical tests even with considerable expenditure of time and money.
“With this integrated solution, predictable processes can be created that save costs and greatly improve product quality. This makes the digital prototype even more efficient,” said Wolfgang Lynen, Industry Marketing Manager for Manufacturing Solutions at Autodesk. “Together with strong partners, Autodesk develops solutions that help simulate and examine designs in detail before they are implemented. Companies such as Blue Ridge Numerics provide us with valuable support,” confirmed Jim Quanci, Director of the Autodesk Developer Network.
