The new product line reflects customers’ desire for higher quality, better performance, and greater value. It includes new versions of Avid Media Composer (v3.0), NewsCutter (v7.0), and Symphony (v3.0) software, as well as the new Avid Mojo DX and Nitris DX hardware. The products were designed specifically for media professionals to provide faster HD editing, shorter response times, and maximum reliability. In addition, Avid Technology is announcing a significant price reduction for service offerings covering the new product line and the existing Avid DS Nitris family. New upgrades are also available for Avid Unity MediaNetwork, Unity ISIS, and Interplay.

Pricing and configurations for the new generation of Avid editing systems

Avid’s new HD editing product line offers customers flexible software and hardware configurations optimally suited to the demands of a professional production environment. The same software toolsets are available for all Media Composer and NewsCutter systems in the appropriate configurations, with the differing performance levels corresponding to the associated hardware options.

In addition to the announced features, Avid is also introducing a timestamp export tool for Broadcast WAV (BWF) in all Media Composer and NewsCutter configurations. The timestamp tool makes it possible to insert the sequence timecode when exporting timeline audio tracks as BWF, depending on the project type, making synchronization reference quick and easy.
