Autodesk at Games Convention

Whether Xbox, PlayStation, Wii, mobile gaming or PC, almost all contain something from Autodesk Media & Entertainment. Software such as Maya and 3ds Max, as well as MotionBuilder and Mudbox, are preferred development tools.

The latest game highlights of the season have demonstrated it once again. Only a handful of software manufacturers worldwide share the market for the solutions used to create today’s games.

Software Manufacturer Meets the Entire Industry

Autodesk Media & Entertainment is therefore strongly involved in Europe’s most important event for the sector. Its activities focus less on Games Convention, which is aimed at gamers themselves, and more on Games Developer Conference, held over three days before Games Convention. During Games Convention, Autodesk representatives will give a series of presentations covering game development.

European Premieres of SIGGRAPH Highlights

SIGGRAPH in Los Angeles from 12 to 14 August is regarded worldwide as the industry’s most important trade show for professional tools. Directly after SIGGRAPH, Autodesk will use Games Convention to present the modeling, animation, compositing and rendering news unveiled at SIGGRAPH in Europe for the first time.

Autodesk’s International Commitment

Autodesk is also demonstrating the importance of Games Convention by sending senior company representatives from the United States. Mary Beth Haggerty, Autodesk’s Games Industry Manager, is responsible for the games sector and will use the opportunity to discuss developments with developers, customers and publishers on site.

“I am looking forward to Leipzig,” says Thomas Müller, Territory Marketing Manager for Autodesk Central Europe. “Nowhere else in Europe does the entire games industry meet at this level. We are using the opportunity to present genuine innovations, and we can speak with all the important representatives here.”
