Haggi Flöser-Krey addresses the topic “Rendering with mental ray in Maya” in his two-hour talk. The main topics are:
- Efficient rendering
- What does efficient geometry look like?
- How do you build effective shaders?
- How are textures handled?”
After studying graphic design in Hanover (diploma in 1995), Flöser-Krey worked for case computer graphics. On Sven Väth’s “Beauty and the Beast”, he says he was able to contribute to the “first decent German animated music video”, as well as to various commercials and effects shots.
He has been a freelancer since 1998. At Ambient Entertainment, he was involved in the films “Back to Gaya”, “Urmel aus dem Eis” and “Urmel voll in Fahrt”, as well as several smaller projects. Flöser-Krey’s main focus is on building an efficient production pipeline and on visual effects and rendering. He is currently preparing the restructuring of the distributed rendering system for a current film project.
