In his two-hour presentation, Haggi Flöser-Krey addresses “Rendering with mental ray in Maya.” Key topics include:

  • Efficient rendering
  • What does efficient geometry look like?
  • How do you build effective shaders?
  • How are textures handled?

After studying graphic design in Hanover and graduating in 1995, Flöser-Krey worked for case computer graphics. According to him, he contributed to Sven Väth’s “Beauty and the Beast,” the “first proper German animated music video,” as well as various commercials and effects shots.

He has worked as a freelancer since 1998. At Ambient Entertainment, he contributed to the films Back to Gaya, Impy’s Island and Impy’s Wonderland, as well as several smaller projects. Flöser-Krey focuses primarily on building an efficient production pipeline and on visual effects and rendering. He is currently preparing to restructure the distributed-rendering system for a current film project.
