Together with Microsoft, NVIDIA worked on developing technology components that offer new possibilities when using Windows 7, particularly for photography, video, gaming and 3D graphics.
“We firmly believe that Windows 7 combined with NVIDIA graphics technology will deliver the high performance our customers expect from us,” emphasized Mike Nash, Corporate Vice President of Windows Product Management at Microsoft Corp. “Thanks to NVIDIA graphics technology, the new visual capabilities in Windows 7, such as editing photos, videos and 3D graphics, can be used to their full extent. With its proven expertise in visual computing, NVIDIA made a decisive contribution to the development of Windows 7.”
The new NVIDIA drivers will be made available to end users through the Microsoft Windows Update service. The drivers will support all current Windows Vista and new Windows 7 features, including WDDM 1.1, Direct3D 11, GDI Acceleration, Direct2D, DirectWrite and DXVA HD.
