Munich virtual-reality specialist Realtime Technology (RTT) AG has announced the acquisition of usage and exploitation rights to all software products from Bytes + Lights GmbH. These include solutions for data preparation, technical documentation and virtual photography. Bytes + Lights software allows designers to prepare CAD models for downstream processes in a very short time. RTT AG is thereby expanding its 3D-visualization portfolio into PDM integration, geometry processing and automated image generation. Dr. Gerd Sußner, Bytes + Lights GmbH’s developer of geometry-processing technology, has also worked at RTT since November 1, 2008.
The multi-person founding team of Bytes + Lights GmbH began developing software for creating virtual prototypes in 2002. Its portfolio—comprising Imagovis, Retis, Varius, Corax and Fulgur—enables high-performance display of complex 3D models. Bytes + Lights operates primarily in the “Virtual Garage” and after-sales fields. At a German automobile manufacturer, the software uses CAD data to create graphics for spare-parts catalogs, operating manuals and service documentation.
